Overview
ACE Seeds, a breeders collective from Spain, have cemented themselves a reputation for bringing us some of the most exquisite landrace strains, especially sativas.
Here they are again with a pure, full blooded sativa straight out of southern Africa.
ACE Seeds have used this landrace strain’s genetics to great effect in various breeding programs, creating such great hybrids as Green Haze X Malawi and Golden Tiger.
Malawi is an extremely potent sativa that produces ample buds with huge trichomes. It forms a rangy plant with medium to long internodes and abundant lateral branching which responds aggressively to pruning.
To grow Malawi outdoors you will need a great climate with long hot summers. Malawi has excellent resistance to mildew and botrytis (bud rot), but you will need good strong sunlight right into November to grow this plant successfully outdoors.
Because of this, most of you will be growing Malawi indoors under lights. You will need to have strong, high quality lights with a high intensity output.
There are a couple of suitable methods for growing Malawi indoors. You can either flip to 12/12 just as soon as the seedlings roots are established and grow the plant straight up or with some LST. Or you can veg for a little longer and grow this plant through a screen in a SCROG set up. Although this latter method will take a little longer, the returns can be very good, producing hefty crops of top quality sativa.
Malawi smokes with an intense bouquet that is redolent of incense with some pleasing citrus hints.
The hit from smoking Malawi is a very potent, psychedelic sativa buzz that can be quite heavy duty. The effects are instant and can be brutal. We would recommend this strain for experienced tokers only. You should avoid this strain if you suffer at all from paranoia or anxiety.
