World of Seeds – Northern Light x Big Bud

Northern Light x Big Bud is a highly productive strain with its genetics firmly rooted in the famous Northern Lights. World of Seeds have crossed a carefully selected Northern Light specimen with the aptly named Big Bud. The result is a strain that is ideal for commercial growers, given her fast flowering time, ease of growth and substantial yields.

Although Big Bud was never considered a particularly potent strain, by crossing it with Northern Light, World of Seeds have created a much stronger strain that will please experienced smokers who want an extra kick in their joints. The THC levels clock in at around 19%. Taking proper care when drying and curing will increase potency, whilst maximising the terpene profile. Indoor harvests can see around 600g/m² after a flowering time of 55-60 days.

As aforementioned, Northern Light x Big Bud is really easy to grow. It is very tolerant of mold, mildew and a whole range of other pests and diseases. It will also withstand a variety of growing conditions and still produce acceptable crops. Soil growers will obtain the best tasting results: a rich and fruity bouquet that will require good odor prevention during both the growing and drying phases.

Northern Light x Big Bud remains a fairly short plant, rarely exceeding 40” in height. The vast, strong branches, make her a good candidate for SCROG systems. Topping, Fimming and LST will all help to increase yields, although leaving her to grow naturally will still generate adequate returns. If growing outdoors, ensures harvest are ready by late September to early October.

The hit from Northern Light X Big Bud is a deep and intensely stoney buzz, although it is not as potent as the original Northern Lights. This is because of her higher CBD levels, which can leave users in a sedated state that is far more mellow. Therefore, this strain is of potential interest to the medical marijuana community and smokers who want the medicinal benefits without too heavy psychoactive effects.
