Serious Seeds – Bubble Gum

Overview

Bubble Gum is a classic strain that, like many of the classics, has its true origins veiled in mystery. All we know is that it was developed somewhere in Indiana, U.S. and that it made its way to the Netherlands at some point during the late ’80s/early ’90s. As with many of the classics, there are a number of versions and re-workings available from different breeders and seedbanks.

This version from Serious Seeds of Amsterdam is the only IBL strain (not an F1 hybrid) on their catalogue. She leans towards the sativa side of the family tree, with her multiple long branches and tendency to stretch after switching the lighting to 12/12. SCROG systems take excellent advantage of this and can be very productive, helping yields to reach up to 450g/m². Her flowering time is 8-9 weeks.

Bubble Gum grows into a medium to tallish plant, producing compact, resinous buds. Indoor cultivators will need to be aware of her height. Ensure there is adequate space to let her grow and use training techniques to help manage her size.

The most outstanding and identifying quality of Bubble Gum is the taste. Bubble Gum has a sweet, pink candy, flavor and odor that is very distinctive. Some phenotypes will consist of it more than others, but they will all have it. It really is like smoking bubblegum. Her effects resemble the perfect hybrid hit. An upbeat, euphoric buzz combined with a blissfully soft body stone that just puts you in that perfect place.
