ACE Tikal Feminized Seeds

Overview

The Tikal marijuana strain is a strain that has been developed from the Guatemala landrace strain by ACE Seeds of Spain. ACE have taken their Guatemalan genetics and added in some Kush Haze to shorten both the flowering period and the height.

The result is Tikal, named after an ancient Mayan citadel deep in the heart of the Guatemalan rainforest and close to the location where the original Guatemala seeds were sourced.

Although Tikal is a hybrid, it still retains much of its original Haze characteristics. Tikal will grow into a robust, multi branched plant. Leaves are thin, long fingered and light in color. Flowers are long and spear shaped and production occurs at bud sites all across the plant. Yields can be high, especially if the plant is well trained.

Indoor growers wishing to train this plant will want to consider super cropping and LST to keep the growth under control and expose more budding sites to the grow lights. SCROG systems work very well with the multiple branching and can turn good yields into great yields.

Outdoor growers will require a warm climate that is guaranteed frost free well into October. Although Tikal has some good resistance to botrytis (bud rot), gardeners in cool damp climates would do well to forget about growing this strain outdoors.

As Tikal’s long and elegant buds mature she will give off a very sweet and fruity aroma. Once the harvest has been dried and cured the bouquet develops into something more typically sativa, with woody incense scents and a zingy sour under taste.

When smoked, Tikal delivers a beautiful sativa buzz that is a comforting balm to both body and mind. The high has energy, but without the paranoia and edginess associated with some of the Haze strains.

Altogether Tikal is a great hybrid, taking the best qualities of true sativas and tempering them with a little indica mellowness.
