Master Kush

Overview

Master Kush was first developed in Amsterdam and was originally known as High Rise, named after the tall buildings of that area. Due to its popularity among the Dutch coffeeshops, Master Kush was soon stabilised and made available commercially. A two-time Cannabis Cup winner in 1992 and 1993, Master Kush is revered for its gorgeous appearance, showcasing frosty, glistening crystals and delivering a smooth smoke with a potent high.

An indica-dominant hybrid, Master Kush is a cross between two unique landrace strains tracking back to the Hindu Kush mountains. A fairly easy strain to grow, perfect for first-timers who are looking to build up their cultivation skills and get some experience under their belt. Her stature is short and dense, ideal for smaller indoor grow rooms. Also a great strain to grow outdoors because of her adaptability to cooler climates and having a natural resistance to pests and mold.

Like its Kush brethren, Master Kush is a vigorous plant that can be grown in most mediums. It responds well to training techniques such as Screen of Green and Low Stress Training. There is comparatively little odor in the grow room, making her a good investment for growers with limited odor control. Nonetheless, the scent is distinctive with an earth and tangy citrus aroma.

Master Kush forms heavy, globular buds that are covered in long reddish-orange hairs, which will darken considerably towards the end of flowering. The indica-like buds are tight, with colours of light and dark green and hues of purple and blue. When smoked, it delivers a very mild taste: smooth and clean with just a hint of earthiness.

The buzz is mellow too. A well-balanced, relaxing body high that keeps your head clear and allows smokers to still function. However, she’s definitely recommended as an evening strain compared to a morning wake and bake. Medicinal users will be interested in Master Kush, as it can be a good ailment for stress, pain, sore muscles and insomnia.
