Royal Queen Seeds – ICE Feminized

Overview

ICE from Royal Queen Seeds is an indica-heavy strain that is a cross between three old-school classics. Taking the genes from Afghani, Skunk and Northern Light and blending them together to give us a plant that is a heavy resin producer and delivers a powerful narcotic stone.

ICE is a nice easy plant to grow. She will stay fairly short in the grow room. Yields aren’t massive but can be enhanced with some basic training techniques. Topping and super cropping will encourage production on the lateral branches. You may also want to consider removing some of those large, wide-fingered indica leaves to increase light penetration to the lower reaches of the plant.

Royal Queen Seeds use the name ICE to signify the amount of beautifully shiny crystals that this strain produces, creating a lovely frosty finish. They are also using it as an acronym: Indica Crystal Extreme, to underline the point. Flowering time is 8 weeks, but most growers leave her for another two weeks to maximise resin and potency. Nonetheless, yields are estimated between 400-450g/m².

With such heavy resin production, as well as a genetic heritage that has roots in some of the major hash producing areas of the Hindu Kush, it is no surprise that many fans of this strain grow it for extraction techniques. Finger hash, iso hash, oil, budder, wax, shatter, whatever your preferred method. All can be processed in abundance and to a high degree of quality. In fact, Royal Queen Seeds say that this is their best strain for hash production.

Outdoor growers will find that ICE performs well in the soil. You will need a fairly decent climate though, with those in warm Mediterranean areas doing the best. Outdoors, she has the potential to reach 200cm in height and produce up to 550g/plant.

ICE smokes with a potent hashy flavor that is incredibly soothing. The hit is a classic indica couchlock stone that is very sleepy and great for those who suffer with insomnia. The terpene profile is balanced notes of spice, earth and a hint of mint. ICE is best enjoyed in the evening or just before calling it a day.
