Overview
Skunk #1 is the original hybrid strain and the first to successfully marry together the best qualities of both sativas and indicas. It has also become a generic term for any stinky cannabis and is a term misused by smokers, dealers, the police and the media alike. Many individuals and seedbanks lay claim to being the originators of skunk cannabis and the true story of its development is probably already lost. But at some point during the ’70s, in a grow room somewhere in Holland, the legend that is Skunk #1 was born.
Nowadays all of the major seedbanks provide their own versions of Skunk #1. Sensi Seeds is no different. Their variety grows into a dense and compact plant bearing considerable quantities of solid, resin-laden buds. She is a vigorous grower and can put on a huge amount of weight during the flowering phase of her growth. Indoor growers should experiment with a variety of training techniques to keep her stature under control and enhance yields even further. Super Cropping and Screen of Green work great. Outdoors, Skunk #1 is best suited to moderate climates where the summers are of normal length.
Don’t forget why they called it skunk. She’s a smelly lass and if you have neighbors then you should consider the effectiveness of your ventilation and odor control measures. The success and stability of Skunk #1 makes it a very useful plant for breeding new strains and most modern hybridised strains have a little bit of skunk in there somewhere.
Skunk #1 creates a smoke that delivers the intense trademark hit of a soothing, lazy indica stone and a euphoric, creative sativa high, all at the same time. Great for medicinal use also as she’s very relaxing and relieves aches and pains from head to toe.
